Lady Captain Lesley Campbell

After the A. G. M. the first social event for the Ladies section was the Christmas Lunch on Wednesday 14th. December when we not only enjoyed a splendid meal but had some in-house entertainment – Ralston has talent right enough ! After the excesses of the festive season there was a “soup and sandwich” lunch in January with time to catch up with friends after the meal. Two more dates have been arranged. There will be a dinner, for members, on Friday 10th. February, 7 p.m. for 7.30 p. m. ,and our Social Evening, with guests takes place on Wednesday 21st. March. This will take the form of a Continental Cafe with cheese and wine and quizzes. It is hoped there will also be some audience participation during the evening. Tickets for the Social Evening will go on sale at the dinner on 10th. February. Although some hardy souls have defied the adverse conditions to play foursome ties and the 9-hole competition, we are all really looking forward to an improvement in the underfoot conditions and the weather generally to allow us to get back to playing regular golf as soon as possible.

Ladies Championship Final

Morag Key

Morag Key Plays Anne Douglas

An 18 hole final which starts of with a large following, both players compete well and nobody ran away with this match, Morag played the 17th with a one hole lead and with a putt to take the Championship on the 17th green, the ball stopped on the holes edge. On the 18th both Players made Par for Morag to attain her 11th- yes that’s Eleven- Club Championship. Well played Morag but we are sure Anne has many more final appearances to come.
