The Ralston Jessiman Trophy team play Balmore Golf Club, in the semi-final, of the competition, on Saturday 4th September, at Balmore. This is a difficult away tie, and we wish the boys all the best.

Congratulations to Brian Macleod who became Ralston Club Champion by beating Alan Cameron 3 and 2 in the final.
Congratulations also go to Shaun Connor who became the Junior Champion beating Conor Lynch in the final.

Glasgow Boys Final
Gary Foley beat Blair Dalgleish 2&1 in the Final of the Glasgow Boys Championship at Sandyhills Golf Club today. In an excellent final Gary had the edge on his best friend at the seventeenth hole.
Great to have a winner but even better to have two Ralston boys competing in the final.

The Council has been asked by some members to clarify the catering arrangements when a function such as a wedding is being held in the Clubhouse. Our kitchen facilities dictate that dealing with a wedding makes full use of our entire capability. However, if members pre-order before playing they could have a snack or salad once they come back in, provided the wedding guests have been served.

Mixed competition Shotgun Start
The above competition will take place on Sunday 25th July 2010. The Shotgun start will be at 2:30 PM.
In order to avoid unnecessarily restricting other members play on that Sunday morning, the competition competitors will be positioned at holes 1-12.
This allows members who wish to play on Sunday morning the opportunity to commence a round If they start prior to 12:30 AM.
Any members who are playing the course and are ahead of the 12th Green when the shotgun/Horn fires may continue to play out their round as long as they stay ahead of the competition. Players who have not cleared the 12th by 2:15 PM will have to clear the course.
This option has been decided as an alternative to closing the course at 11:00AM on a Sunday morning and allows as much play as possible whilst allowing the competition to continue.

The Newton Shield team won their last match of the season beating Ranfurly Castle 5 games to 3.
Unfortunately the Junior Newton Shield team were beaten 4 games to 2 away at Ranfurly Castle, their last game of the season takes place this Thursday 8 July against Kilmacolm with the tee being reserved from 4:00pm - 5:00pm.

Both Newton Shield teams had wins last night with the Juniors winning 5 games to 1 away at Caldwell and the Senior team winning 5 games to 3 at home to Caldwell.

The Ralston Junior Newton Shield team had a great 6-0 win over Caldwell on Monday night, this followed on from their 4-2 win away to Old Ranfurly on Friday night

Ralston Invitational
Members’ registration evening
The Invitational has returned to a Sunday, and will be played on Sunday, 27th June 2010, with tee-off times scheduled from 7.00am to 4.30pm. The members who wish to book a tee-off time for this event are required to attend on Wednesday 19th May, and insertions onto the Start sheet will commence at 6.00pm. The fee for entry, covering, member and guest will be £ 15.
Only members who are in attendance will be allowed to submit their names to the Start sheet. Members unable to attend can submit a request in writing specifying a preferred time and including the fee. The written requests will be dealt with after the members evening and available times allocated as per custom and practice.

Welcome to Ralston Golf Club, please spend some time exploring details of our Golf Club; I am sure you will be impressed.
Captain Kevin Heathwood
The course has changed considerably over the years, for the better, and offers a challenge to all levels of golf with some tricky holes to test your nerve.
If you have never played the course, the finishing hole provides a panoramic view that stretches over Glasgow and Paisley all the way to Ben Lomond. It also gives a commanding view of our famous weeping ash tree at the back of the 18th green and our magnificent clubhouse.
Visitors are most welcome to enjoy the course by booking through our Club Secretary, Brian Hanson or Club Professional, Colin Munro.
Our Club Manager, Karen McLeod, and her friendly staff cater for a variety of events, including private functions organised by club members. We have a clubhouse to be justifiably proud of and it is complemented by excellent menus to suit the discerning palate prepared by our Chef, David Ewing and his staff. If you have not had the opportunity to visit our Clubhouse you are missing out.
