Matchplay Singles Competitions
Watt Cup, Strathmore and Millenium .
As you will all be aware, in an attempt to streamline the
procedures for the above competitions this year, entry was to be
made using the PSI ( touch screens). On commencing the draw
I find that the files have corrupted and only about 50% of the
origInal entrants remain on the lists.
To ensure that nobody misses
out on the opportunity to enter these competitions I have had to re
post the entry lists.
The lists will be posted in the usual place in the locker room notice
boards. Additionally any member who cannot make it to the club
for the closing date, 27th April, may e-mail match and I will add
them to the draw list.
You may e-mail on behalf of any fellow member you know to be
away and unaware of these circumstances.
Please send e-mails to
match Not to the secretary, and include
Matchplay draw in the e-mail title.
My apologies to all members this has inconvenienced.

Monday 27 February
The contractors will be starting to mulch the trees this morning. We would ask members to stay well clear of this machine while it is in operation. Once again we would like to make members aware that this machine will leave some mess and greenstaff will have finishing work to do once it has gone.
Tuesday 14 February
Tree contractors have now felled most of the trees that they have been contracted to do. Towards the end of this week they will be bringing in a mulcher to finish the work. This machine will drive over the trees where they have been stacked and mulch them into bark and soil leaving these areas ready for seeding and planting.
We must make members aware that this may leave some mess and finishing work for greenstaff.
Due to financial constraints this was agreed the most cost effective and quickest way of dealing with the damage that the storms have caused. We may also have to close some holes when this machine is working to ensure the safety of members.

We would like to ask members to keep a safe distance from the contractors while the tree work is ongoing.

Welcome to Ralston Golf Club, one of West Central Scotland's premier golf clubs. We're only a 10 minute drive from Glasgow city centre and visitors are always made most welcome.

Captain Peter McEachran
It was a great pleasure to welcome the spring meeting of the Scottish Ladies Veterans Golf
Association to Ralston recently. The ladies were very appreciative of our course and delighted at the
welcome they received at Ralston from the members and staff. The competition was won by Alison
Gemmell Kilmarnock (Barrasie) with a gross score of 73.
At the recent council meeting the subject of our dress code was raised. Some concern was expressed
about some members and guests not being dressed in accordance with club rules. The dress code
has been agreed by members over the years and whilst we are relaxed about this and want to
encourage people to use the club as much as possible it was felt we should remind members of the
standard of dress expected. Below are some of the key points:
- Only shirts or golf shirts with a collar are permitted. Round neck tee shirts are not
acceptable.
- Jogging bottoms or tracksuits are not acceptable on the club premises
- Jeans may be worn in the clubhouse but these should be clean and not torn or ripped.
- Trainers are not permitted other than for juniors.
- Coats, jackets etc. should be hung in the cloakroom and not over the back of a chair in the
lounge.
- Clothing which has been worn on the course that day should not be worn in the Ralston
lounge.
- No football tops of any kind on club premises.
The councils view is that the members have agreed to these rules at AGMs over the years and
therefore the members are being asked to abide by the rules they themselves have set. It should
not be necessary for the council members or staff to police this. Your cooperation in preserving the
clubs standards would be appreciated.
